Free Christmas Crafts for Kids
Free Christmas crafts for kids don't have to be difficult. If you have younger children it can be hard finding something for them to do that's easy enough for their age level. At 2 yrs old, my daughter wanted to be included in our crafts. Finding free Christmas crafts proved to be very difficult since she couldn't use scissors, glue, or many other things. The following free Christmas crafts are ment for any age range, and older children can use their imagination to build on these ideas for more complicated crafts.
Idea Queen Free Christmas Crafts
The following free Christmas crafts are Idea Queen originals. You may find variations of these two crafts in other places, but they were directly from the mind of Idea Queen.Mini Christmas Trees
Made completely from paper, these crafts can keep children of any age busy for hours.
What you'll need:
- Green Construction Paper
- Glue
- Glitter
- Other decorations
First start with making your Christmas tree. You can use this patter, or create your own.

Cut out pattern on your green construction paper, and roll into a tree. Don't glue it together just yet, it will be easier for the kids to decorate it while it's still flat. You will want to make note of where they will be able to decorate, and what will be covered up. (You don't want them upset because one or two of their decorates can't be seen!)
After you have your lines drawn, show your kids where they can decorate. Use crayons, markers, glitter, beads, or anything else to decorate the mini trees. Let them have fun using their creativity!
Pine Cone Decorations
Pine cones were always favorite free Christmas crafts when I was a child, and it's so simple. When I was a child, I lived next door to a huge woods with lots of pine trees. Most probably don't have quite as easy access as I did as a child. Even still, you start this craft off by taking a winter walk in a near woods with pine cones to collect your supplies.
What You'll Need:
- Large Pine Cones
- Glue
- Paint
- Glitter
- Any other decorations
Start off by letting the kids paint their pine cones in any color, or green if they want to make "Christmas Trees". Just about any paint will work, so you don't need to get fancy here.
After the paint dries, let them decorate their cones in glitter, beads, ribon, or any other combinations you (or they) can think of. Have fun!

How to Make "Crazy Crayons"
By Stephanie Amster-Yoho
http://www.neatogroovy.com/
Get all of your old broken crayons from the couch cushions and out from under the bed and don't forget about the car!
Take a metal muffin type tin and dust with baby powder, then arrange crayons "standing on ends" till the tin is full, but not taller than the sides. The crayons do not have to be the same color.
Bake at 400 degrees for 2 minutes. That should be enough time for them to melt together. DO NOT LEAVE THE OVEN ALONE!
Then let cool. Pop them out and you can color the world all at once! These make great stocking stuffers and party favors. Recycling is fun! Can you dig it???
