60th Birthday, 70th Birthday, and 80th Birthday Party Ideas
Often refered to as the "Golden Years", planning a birthday party for a friend or family member over 60 can be rewarding. Here are some ideas to make their party extra special.Hire a band
For 70th birthday party ideas and 80th birthday party ideas, renting a band might be very special for them.
Try aiming for a band you know they like, or a big band that's available for their party. Many in this age group still flock to dances and big band music.
For 60th birthday party ideas this may not work, since they may not be especially fond of this type of music. Find out what their favorite type of music is before you start planning.
Invite everyone
The older someone gets, the more important it is to celebrate a birthday. Make their 60th birthday, 70th birthday, or 80th birthday extra special by inviting everyone they know.
You may need some help with the guest list, but be sure to leave noone out. Send invites to every friend and family member you can think of. The bigger the party, the better.
Rent a Dance Hall
If you have the band, you'll need the hall. Leave room for couples to dance or mingle. Don't forget the food if not being offered!
This idea may get a little costly, but if you are planning with the rest of the family they may be able to help pay.
Choosing Gifts
Chances are by this point, they won't need much for gifts. Create or hire someone to put together a memory book or scrapbook they will enjoy. It doesn't have to be big or expensive, just as long as it means something.
Other gifts would include special pictures, items specific to their hobbies, and more. If you are coming up with 60th birthday party ideas, go easy on the over the hill gag gifts. For 70th and 80th birhtday party ideas, those should probably be avoided all together with unless you know they would get a kick out of it.
