Easy Pasta Recipes
One of my personal favorite easy pasta recipes, which doesn't exactly have a name, can feed your whole family for under $2. At least 2 adults and 2 small children anyway. This recipe is easy to duplicate, and requires little cooking aside from boiling the pasta. It doesn't matter if you are the "by the book" cook or "throw together" type cook, this recipe is great for both. My 5 year old will eat 3 bowls of this if there's enough.
Half Spaghetti Pasta
1 package spaghetti noodles (thin)1 can Italian diced tomatoes
Garlic salt
Cook pasta, drain. Add can of diced tomatoes (do not drain!). Sprinkle in garlic salt, along with any other spices you want. I add a bit of garlic powder just for the extra taste, along with a little extra basil and oregano (even though this is already in the can of tomatoes).
This recipe is at the top of the easy pasta recipes list because the ingredients are usually in your kitchen. I try to stock up on Itailian dieced tomatoes when I can, since I use it for other recipes.
Note: Double for larger family
Servings: Feeds 4, barely
Prep time: less than 20 mins
Another family favorite is just about as cheap, costing under $3 for meal. Just as simple, and just as easily doubled. Great for throwing together a meal at the last minute.
Angle Hair Pasta and Herbs
1 package angle hair pasta1/2 cup butter
1 jar sliced mushrooms, drained
Dried Basil
Dried Oregano
Dried Cilantro
Garlic Salt
Cook pasta, drain. Cut butter into sections, and add slowly while stirring (so it will melt). Add mushrooms, followed by spices to taste. Pasta should have a "coating" of spices. I use about equil proportions of all spices except garlic salt I use more of.
This is another that's at the top of the easy pasta recipes list since most ingredients are kept on hand. Sliced mushrooms can also be used for chicken and pizza recipes.
Note: Double for larger family
Servings: Feeds 4, barely
Prep time: less than 20 mins
If you need easy pasta recipes which are cold or semi-warm that will go great with a BBQ, this one is a favorite when we grill out.

Summer Pasta w/Balsamic Vinegar
1 package thin spaghetti1 can sliced mushrooms
Minced Garlic
Balsami Vinegar
Tomatoes, diced
Cook pasta as directed, drain and cool a bit. Add in the rest of the ingredients. Amounts will depend on your own taste, so do test as you go. I don't usually use more than one tomato or more than 3 TBS of minced garlic. Add in other ingredients like walnuts or other spices for new easy pasta recipes of your own.
Another favorite of our easy pasta recipes is good old homemade mac & cheese. Sure you could buy a cheap box, but where's the fun in that? Homemade Mac & Cheese is actually pretty simple. For those who haven't ever made it, the recipe is as follows:
Homemade Mac & Cheese
1 Package pasta shells or macaroni, cookedVelveeta Cheese (block)
Milk
Cook pasta as directed, then slowly add in your cheese and milk. Use small pieces of cheese so it melts better. Some leave the burner on low, but do be careful not to burn our pasta. You can also add cooked hamburger to make another recipe for your collection of easy pasta recipes.
The last on the list of easy pasta recipes is one that has to be the most simple of all. It's also one of our favorites. It can be used as a side dish, or as a starter for other easy pasta recipes. If you are lacking spices or any ingredients except pasta, this last recipe should be no problem. Cost is $1-2 for the entire meal.
Garlic and Butter Pasta
1 package angel hair pasta1/2 cup butter
Garlic Salt
Cook pasta, drain. Cut butter into sections and add slowly while stirring (to melt). Place in bowls and serve with garlic salt to taste.
From here you can add other ingredients, such as basil, oregano, mushrooms, fresh garlic, fresh tomatoes, or anything else italian related. You could also add cooked chicken to the pasta, and serve with garlic bread.
Note: Double for larger family
Servings: Feeds 4, barely
Prep time: less than 20 mins
Get creative with your easy pasta recipes! If you are trying to come up with something tasty on a low budget, try adding some other combinations of spices, vegitables, etc. Examples would be lemon juice, pepper, chicken, and more.
