The Best Pork Chop Recipe
Last week my significant other requested apple stuffed pork chops from a random recipe we found. Unfortunately I knew the presents of stuffing would have my kids saying “yuck!”, so I had to come up with a variation to please everyone. Fortunately we succeeded.
I knew I had to leave in the apples, so I based the recipe around that and pork chops. We got semi-thin chops (not the imfamous “Iowa Chops” that are 2 or 3 inches thick), a can of apple pie filling, hashbrowns, and shredded cheese. What came out of the oven was absolutely FANTASTIC and everyone LOVED it. So here’s the recipe….
Apple Chops with Hashbrowns
by Idea Queen4 thin-cut pork chops
1 can of apple pie filling, split in half
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 bag frozen hashbrowns, thawed
1 cup sour cream1. Preheat oven to 350*
2. Brown pork chops in a greased pan on medium-high heat. Set aside.
3. Fry hashbrowns according to package directions, place in large mixing bowl.
4. Add half of the applie pie filling, shredded cheddar cheese, and sour cream to hashbrowns. Mix well and spread in a greased 9×13 baking pan. Place pork chops in a single row on top of potato mixture. Top with remaining apple filling.
5. Cover with foil and bake for 40-45 minutes or until pork chops are done.
We had zero leftovers from this casserole and everyone LOVED it. Even the kids asked for more! It is for sure one for the family recipes book.
Enjoy!

Pork chops are my favourite, tho no one can make them like my mom does.. Might let her make apple chops for a change
